Ownership of intellectual property
The University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) owns the intellectual property for TITAN.
Licensing
TITAN is available for use under a no-fee licence arrangement with UCAR.
Research and non-operational, not-for-profit use
For research and other not-for-profit, non-operational purposes, the software may be downloaded and used under the terms of the on-line licence.
Operational and for-profit use
If you are using the software in an operational system and/or providing products to users or other organizations, or on a for-profit basis, you must sign a formal no-fee licence agreement with UCAR to cover this use. This is not a difficult process and is designed primarily to protect UCAR from liability.

Limitation of Liability
Under no circumstances shall UCAR be liable for any damages, including direct, indirect, special, or consequential damages, arising out of or relating to the use of TITAN.
Disclaimer of Warranty on Software
You expressly acknowledge and agree that use of TITAN is at your sole risk. TITAN is provided "AS IS" and without warranty of any kind and UCAR expressly disclaims all warranties and/or conditions, express or implied, including, but not limited to, the implied warranties and/or conditions of merchantability or satisfactory quality and fitness for a particular purpose. UCAR does not warrant that the functions contained in the software will meet your requirements, or that the operation of the software will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that defects in the software will be corrected. Furthermore, UCAR does not warrant or make any representations regarding the use or the results of the use of the software or related documentation in terms of their correctness, accuracy, reliability, or otherwise. No oral or written information or advice given by UCAR or a UCAR authorized representative shall create a warranty or in any way increase the scope of this warranty. Should the software prove defective, you (and not UCAR or a UCAR authorized representative) assume the entire cost of all necessary servicing, repair or correction.
