Definitions

An export is the transfer of specific physical items, information or data to a foreign person, or the provision of services to a foreign person that supports the use of an export controlled material. An export can be a shipment of goods, electronic transfer of information, or a presentation or discussion of controlled information to a foreign person, whether inside or outside of the U.S.
