Carefully assessing the science and its readiness for application
This section is focused on research and development tracks that RAL is pursuing but have not yet fully matured and become a part of one of the five RAL Applications Programs. RAL staff invests time and effort to understand how the technology, demographics, science, politics and overall sensitivity of various sectors to weather and climate are changing on global, regional, national and local scales. Decisions to pursue new initiatives are based on these assessments, which at the highest level, are reflected in the RAL Strategic Plan, Science in Service to Society.
